About

Kris Kademian

As a lifelong practitioner, martial arts have always played a big role in my life. The lessons learned have benefited me in countless ways and opened up a new world of holistic living that intertwines philosophy, simplicity, nutrition and fitness.  This journey has also allowed me to build new friendships and improve existing ones, serving as a bridge to just about every corner of life. It is my intention with this blog to share some of those experiences, make new friends and together further explore this healthy lifestyle that I like to call “Karate Living™."

Some Professional Stuff About Me:

  • CEO of Masters In Motion, Inc.

  • Founder of the KIBUKAN® system.

  • Multiple Hall of Fame inductee.

  • Former white-collar crime investigator.

  • Black Belts in Karate, Kobudo, Jujitsu, Aikido and Hapkido.

A Bit About My Martial Arts Journey:

In 1970 at the early age of three I was introduced to Catch Wrestling by my grandfather, Lazarus Kademian, who became my first instructor and mentor. In the years that followed I had the opportunity to also train in many other arts including Karate, Kobudo, Kung Fu, Jujitsu, Aikido, Hapkido and Kendo.

My Own Dojo

In 1995 I founded Masters In Motion®, to teach the best elements of all the arts I had learned.  Masters In Motion® has since developed into a professional corporation with diverse services where I currently serves as CEO.

I Meet the Ultimate Grandmaster!

In 2000 I began personal training with Tadashi Yamashita, an Okinawan Karate and Kobudo Grandmaster who opened a whole new dimension to the understanding and application of martial arts.  Today, I continue to regularly train with Grandmaster Yamashita, who also serves as my mentor, adviser and friend.  I consider Grandmaster Yamashita, along with my grandfather, as two people who have most influenced my life.

Bridging the Past with the Future

In 2005 I developed a system based on a scientific interpretation of common elements and strategy found in all martial arts.  The focus was to stress sound concepts and realistic combat strategy that would universally apply to any technique.  It was also to encompass a well-rounded training curriculum that would address diverse scenarios and cultivate a strong physical and mental disposition.  This system eventually came to be known as KIBUKAN®.

Going Forward

Since those early days I have instructed at multiple studios, seminars and workshops that have included civilians, law enforcement and military personnel.  Higher level black belts, recognitions and Hall of Fame inductions also came along the way.  Today, I continue to train, teach and mentor, working hard to always seek ways to improve our unique system, ensuring that it preserves its rich heritage and remains adaptable to modern needs.
